Delete your account

1. Overview

Account deletion is handled in the Hive Mind mobile app, operated by Apis Nexus. You stay signed in during a 7-day grace period and can cancel in the App before the due date. After that period, deletion runs automatically according to your role.

If you cannot sign in, email info@apis-nexus.co.za and we will help you request deletion.

2. Delete in the app

1. Open Hive Mind and sign in.
2. Go to Profile or Settings, then choose Leave organisation (owners) or Delete account (managers and field workers).
3. Confirm with your password and the required phrase (DELETE for members, or WIPE ORGANISATION for owners wiping the account).
4. You will see the scheduled due date. Use Cancel deletion anytime before then if you change your mind.

3. Managers and field workers

After the grace period, your login is removed. Password and contact details (name, phone, emergency contacts) are cleared. Username and email stay reserved so they cannot be reused by a new signup. Reactivation, if needed, is handled by Apis Nexus on request.

Shared sites, hives, and other organisation records stay with the account owner.

4. Account owners

Transfer ownership

Transfer to a manager and you leave immediately. Sites, hives, media, and billing stay with the organisation under the new owner.

Wipe the organisation

After the 7-day grace period:

• Organisation records (sites, hives, events, routes, team access) are soft-deleted
• Uploaded photos and recordings are deleted from object storage
• A paid PayFast subscription is cancelled when we hold a billing token (hobbyist / free plans have none)

5. What we retain

• Reserved username and email on the soft-deleted user row
• Transactional email logs and ownership-transfer audit records
• Legal or billing records PayFast may keep under their own policy
